Fertility for Women
First of all, you can expect to feel in safe hands. I’ve been using Traditional Chinese medicine to support patients with fertility issues since 1999 and have a long and successful track record of helping my patients to conceive.
However you feel when you arrive, your needs and wishes come first. I am here to help you; and you’ll find my clinic a safe space to feel, think and be while I look after you.
I want to help you regain control of your reproductive health, problem-solve and plan for a successful outcome. I want you to be sufficiently informed and knowledgeable to choose – if needed – the right medical Consultants and clinics. I want to get to know you so I can tailor your path according to your individual needs.
To this end, during your first consultation I will take full details of your medical history as well as asking you questions about your lifestyle, stress levels and nutrition. It can be very helpful for the person who will be supporting you through treatment to come along to this first meeting; they’ll be very welcome. Please also bring any information you may have about your condition plus any investigation or blood test results you’ve had.
You probably won’t have acupuncture at this first session but while we’re together I might recommend diagnostic tests, such as hormone checks at certain times of your cycle, which may help to identify any underlying causes for your fertility issues. I may ask you to start checking your basal body temperature, will explain why this is important, and will give simple, clear and precise instructions on how this should be done.
I might also recommend that you see another specialist for Western medical treatments, nutritional support or emotional/psychological support.
Everyone I recommend to you is part of my trusted network of fertility practitioners.
We all specialise in treating fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology, place great emphasis on continuing professional development and training and are registered members of our profession’s governing bodies.
Based on what I find in our first meeting I will make a diagnosis and will prescribe, as appropriate, a treatment of acupuncture and herbal medicine. This will always be tailored to you and your body but, as a guideline, you can expect acupuncture once a week for the first three months then once or twice a month after that.
As your treatment continues I may recommend other tests such as ultrasound, blood tests, hormone checks and ovarian function tests. All help me reach a diagnosis so that I can recommend the best treatment for you and your body.
If you have any questions at all about this first meeting please contact me. I understand that seeing me can be a big step and am happy to answer any question (no matter how inconsequential you fear it may be) that helps set your mind at rest.
