The Fertility Support Company provides healthcare and support to people who wish to become parents and people who have complex long-term health needs who need an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment path. The primary method of care is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine’s use of acupuncture and herbal medicine and Micro-Immunotherapy, supported by Western medical diagnostic techniques, nutrition, medical or surgical support or nervous system work.

The Fertility Support Company was founded by Naava Carman (she/her), a Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist and Herbalist who has specialised in supporting people with fertility and gynaecological issues for 26 years. Naava has also built up a network of like-minded doctors and therapists who specialise in treating fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology. All of these practitioners place great emphasis on continuing professional development and training, and are registered members of their profession’s governing bodies. Naava’s approach and pricing

Your initial consultation will take the form of a 90 minute Zoom call during which Naava will take a full medical history and ask you questions to understand your current and previous symptoms. This costs £375. She cannot take a medical history that is adequate to the complexity of the work she does in less than this period of time. If the history takes longer, she will offer you up to 30mins extra free of charge where possible on the same day, or on another day that she will arrange with you.

Naava will then write a report with her assessment of your medical history and the approach she would take to testing, diagnosis and treatment. This costs £125. This is important as the client needs to understand the conclusions and scope of testing and treatment and be on the same page as Naava before they can move forward. Clients will be offered a free 15m follow up zoom call after they have read and digested their reports. This is an opportunity to ask any outstanding questions they may have and give permission for the testing phase to be invoiced for, and the ordering of these tests to begin.

On rare occasions, Naava’s report may conclude that you need a different treatment approach to the one she offers, if this is the case then she will recommend a different practitioner who would be more appropriate.

Naava’s pricing is based on her hourly rate of £250, regardless of which treatment modality or work she does. So, for example, an acupuncture treatment lasting an hour is £250 and writing a referral letter, which takes about 15 minutes, would be £62.50.

Testing pricing

It is important that you understand the level of cost involved in this approach to testing before beginning treatment with Naava. And, to understand that both partners will need to be tested and treated. Bacteria and viruses are often passed back and forward between couples and families and unless everyone is treated, nobody can fully and expediently recover.

Based on the kinds of clients Naava tends to see – those who have decades of complicated and often unidentified health issues, or many years of different kinds of infertility – you should expect there to be a significant amount of testing to be done, in order to identify what is happening under the surface. This is likely to cost between £2,000-£4,500 for the initial testing and around £1-2,000 for at least 2 sets of follow-up tests later on in the treatment. We are unable to give you a more concrete sum, as each client is treated as an individual and requires different testing.

We, as a matter of policy, do not make any money on the cost of testing, and we pass any discounts we receive from the testing companies through to clients. This way you always know that Naava is suggesting tests based on what she thinks is right for you. Nevertheless, these are expensive and non-negotiable parts of the treatment process.

Naava will make a charge pro-rated from her hourly rate for setting up accounts, taking the time to make orders, analysing the results and preparing a report. This will all be delivered to you in a live consultation, and then treatment will begin.

Trying to conceive

Please note that Naava will ask you to actively prevent conception until she has given you the all-clear on her investigations. In some more complex cases, this may take up to a year. This is because her work impacts egg and sperm quality, implantation, embryogenesis and the health of the child-to-be, and these factors need to be in optimum condition before and to aid, conception.
