Jaap discusses the ways we as Acupuncturists can best handle:
- Perceived failure – both in ourselves and our clients feelings about not conceiving
- Issues of identity
- Dealing with grief
- Sexual dysfunction as a result of infertility.
This is a chance to have an interactive discussion about how to hold our clients without being drained by them, and come away with tools to help us handle this challenging work.
Danielle King is a dedicated and passionate embryologist with many years experience in IVF. She works at Boston Place, which is one of the top private IVF clinics in London, run by Mr Stuart Lavery, the consultant who heads Hammersmith Hospital’s IVF unit. She works with state of the art laboratory equipment and unlike many embryologists, takes opportunities for regular patient interaction which allows her to have a personalised approach.
Talking with Danielle, we as acupuncturists will have an opportunity to ask about and understand from an Embryolgist point of view:
- How egg quality is assessed
- How this information is transmitted to clients
- The process of embryo examination
- The assessment of sperm
- What embryo glue, assisted hatching, Embryoscope time-lapse imaging and Spermslow are
- How PGD/PGS/CGH work, and their implications.
